About Us

Natives in VetMed began as a small group of like-minded individuals in the veterinary medicine field. With the help of a trusted mentor, these individuals were connected and formed an instant camaraderie, and began to volunteer at different clinics based on serving Indigenous communities. As time passed on, and word spread of a group that supported Indigenous people within the veterinary field, the dream of forming a networking organization became reality. In April of 2022, Natives in VetMed officially began recruiting and brainstorming ideas for future events, and ways to build a community. Now we are a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit that is rapidly growing to address our mission.

We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren, and children yet to be born. We must protect the forests for those who can't speak for themselves such as the birds, animals, fish, and trees."
